EXPERIENCED ORDER PICKER OPERATOR

 

This workshop is based upon guidelines created by the Ministry of Labour for Industrial Forklift Truck Operator Training and ensures that the participants are competent as required by the industrial regulations.

CLASSROOM THEORY COMPONENT

Morning

 

Duties as stated in the Act & Industrial Regulations 
Safe operating procedures 
Pre-start up procedures

Forklift truck stability 
Driving hazards in your workplace 
Safely handling loads 
Working with electric batteries

 

 

PRACTICAL OPERATIONS COMPONENT

Afternoon

Each participant driving skills will be evaluated by the instructor and at least one of the other participants.

 

During the evaluation phase each participant will demonstrate his/her ability to complete the variety of skills required by their regular job to safely operate a fork lift truck in your workplace.

   

TRAINING METHODS

To ensure maximum involvement participants will be encouraged to help with demonstrations and to share experiences related to the use of fork lift trucks in your workplace. Overheads will be used in the workshop.

 

The content of this workshop will be adapted to match the equipment used and the loads moved in your workplace.

 

CERTIFICATES

All successful candidates will receive a forklift truck operator certificate..

 

CLASS SIZE

Optimum number is 8 operators. Supervisors may wish to attend only the theory component to comply with the definition of “competent” as required in the Act.
