SAFETY COACH NOTES - DUE DILIGENCE
Unfortunately
this issue is often considered only after a serious accident occurs, an order
has been issued or there is a potential fine of more than a $100,000.
Due diligence is
“taking every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of
the worker”.
The
Occupational Health and Safety Act states that it is the duty of the employer,
supervisor and director to demonstrate “Due Diligence”.
