GOALS

To discuss the duties and liabilities of the supervisors for health and safety in your workplace as stated in current legislation

To identify areas of potential risk in their departments

To develop a preliminary action plan to correct the areas of potential risk

To develop a practical process that ensures that specified duties are met

How the Ministry of Labour enforces the legislation

Methods of ensuring that you are meeting the requirements for "Due Diligence"

Record keeping

Identify areas of potential risk in your department

Evaluating policies and procedures in your department

Developing a personalized activity calender

 

 

TRAINING METHODS

To ensure maximum involvement participants will:

          -  be encouraged to share their experiences related to these topics.

          - discuss situations which resulted in charges and fines.

          - participate in role playing .

 

REQUIRED MATERIALS

A copy of your health and safety policies and procedures 

Copies of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and industrial regulations for each participant

Accident records for your workplace

 

LENGTH OF WORKSHOP

This workshop requires  a half day . The optimum size of  the group is 8 to 12 participants.
